Research organizations rely on voluntary respondent cooperation. With new legislations, by the CRTC in Canada and the FCC in the US, specific laws have been developed and registration systems have been implemented to allow the public to opt out of receiving unsolicited calls.
Market Research, Polls and Survey calls, among other industries, are exempt from Do Not Call (DNC) legislation. At ASDE we do however maintain our own internal list, on our own initiative, to help preserve the reputation of survey professionals and the market research industry, which relies on the goodwill of the public to participate in surveys.
