Our Sampling Team
Roger Burrows - Principal
Technology Consultant
Roger Burrows obtained his Master’s Degree in Natural
Sciences from Cambridge University. He worked for IBM for
four years before immigrating to Canada to work for the
Canadian government as a software developer and systems
programmer. In 1978 he joined Amdahl Canada as a systems
engineer supporting Amdahl hardware and IBM software in the
Ottawa area, with ongoing assignments in software education
and in hardware engineering at the company's headquarters in
California. In 1988, he moved to the Amdahl marketing
organization to provide technical support to large Canadian
organizations. Since the early 1980s, Roger has devoted
increasing amounts of time to personal computers, and in
1998 he left Amdahl to run his own consulting business
applying large systems experience to personal computer
systems.
Randa Bell (CMRP
and PRC)- Vice
President - Member
of the Board of Directors
Born and educated in Cairo, Egypt, Randa graduated from the
American University with a BA in Economics. She had
extensive experience in the survey research field in Cairo,
Cyprus and, since her arrival in Canada in 1987, in the
Canadian market research organizations. She has been field
director and operations manager of many important survey
research organizations, including: Starch Canada, NPD
Canada, DMS Market Services and Creative Research
International. She joined ASDE in 2002 as director of client
services. In April of 2005 the Board of Directors
unanimously appointed Randa to the position of Vice
President Marketing and Client Services. Randa is also a
Certified Market Research Professional, as well as a
PRC.
Michel Durocher - Director
of Business Development
A recent addition
to the team, Michel brings a strong depth of experience in
business development and managing client relationships.
He worked for industry leaders SC Johnson and MTS Allstream in
senior sales positions. He also spent time fundraising
for two local charity groups, United Way Ottawa and the
Montfort Hospital Foundation. Michel holds a Bachelor of
Commerce degree from the University of Ottawa. Michel
enjoys a good round of golf and watching his kids play hockey.
These sports allow him to burn and freeze accordingly.
Mario Sio - Director of Technical Services
Mario received much of his education in Europe and has a
degree in mechanical engineering. He is also the in-house
technician for all systems including the IVR hosting. Mario
enjoys the problem solving challenges that keep all
programmers alert, interacting with clients and making an
annoying rubber ball out of all the office elastic bands. It
still weighs 2.25 kilos so he is making another one.
Hiroel Fife De La Cruz - Sampling Technician
Hiroel was educated in Havana in the field of
Informatics engineering/computer sciences. He came to Canada
in 2002 and joined the ASDE staff in 2003 as a trainee.
Hiroel's experience in computer engineering has been extremely
valuable to ASDE and to our clients, whom he serves with great
skill and dedication.
Othaim Kosa - Sampling
Technician
Othaim completed his early education at the American
International Academy in Zambia; he studied computer
programming via correspondence at the Australia Institute of
Business and Technology (AIBT) and used these skills to design
computers approved for use by the Zambian government.
After moving to the USA, he continued his studies at the Cisco
College for Networking. He moved to Canada to further
advance his studies and career by studying at Algonquin
College and working for a legal firm as a business associate.
Othaim's obvious talents and ambitions will be an asset to our
clients and to ASDE.
Anne Andrée Sirois - Sampling Technician
Anne Andrée joined ASDE on a part time basis in the spring of
2005. She is a full time student and is learning sampling and
related skills to be a true multitalented resource to
ASDE. Anne Andrée is an amazing athlete and her
accomplishments are a warm source of pride for our
organization.
Véronique Poulin - Sampling Coordinator
Veronique was born and raised in Quebec. She graduated high
school and completed a CEGEP (community college) course in
Administrative techniques just before joining ASDE. She is
fluently bilingual and, as a total computer geek (by her own
admission), she was invaluable in her administrative role, but
enjoyed the puzzles and problem solving found as a sampling
technician so took the opportunity when a position became
available. She looks forward to contributing to the steady
growth of ASDE.
Bernadette Quade - Office Manager
Bernadette graduated from the University of Regina with
certification in Early Childhood education, but realized early
enough that teaching other people’s children would not be a
wise career choice; adult education held more appeal. She
initiated and taught courses at the Regina Community College.
She also worked in crisis intervention with the Regina Police
Force and in administration for both private and government
organizations. She joined ASDE in an exclusively
administrative capacity, but welcomed the opportunity to
assist with the firm’s marketing and client services. She
looks forward to helping ASDE become all North American
researchers’ ‘first choice’ for sampling needs.
She is a new Oma and proudly, totally insufferable.
